Make Dreams a Reality by Investing 1 Hour a Day

Cup of Joe – a little boost of inspiration to keep the day going.

If you could have your dream job, would you be willing to sacrifice something of value in exchange for it?

What would you be willing to give up?

Time?

Saturday morning cartoons?
I mean this is a different conversation if you’re still watching cartoons, but are you willing to exchange your day off to work on your dream?

Give up a restaurant dinner to invest the same $80 on a logo, merchandise, or other business needs?

According to Merriam-Webster, sacrifice means “destruction or surrender of something for the sake of something else.”

We have to be willing to destruct bad habits like procrastination, laziness, and lies that you’re not good enough.

We must take account for our daily actions and audit if our behavior and mindset truly line up with our words…remember actions are louder than words.

If you’re crushing it already with your dream job – great, now find someone to mentor.

If you’re semi-crushing it – great, spend one extra hour today working towards mastery.

If you’re saying you want it but aren’t working on it – great, at least you want it.
Now, let’s turn desire into motion.

Today, spend one hour out of the 16 hours you’re awake and begin researching your passion. Watch a YouTube video, grab a pencil and paper, and immerse yourself for 60 minutes.

Here’s a detailed plan:
5 minutes – Find a pencil, paper, phone/laptop, and a quiet place
5 minutes – Google search your dream business/idea
40 minutes – Watching YouTube videos, read one article/blog, take more notes than you ever did in school
5 minutes – Spend time reflecting on notes – look for points you want to dig deeper in
5 minutes- Plan how you’ll carve out one hour the next day

Les Brown says it best, “The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry out their dream.”

Be willing to sacrifice comfort for your hopes and dreams. One day it will be too late to say, “wait”.

It is time to rise up, let’s go!
